Dressing the Part

Brrrrrrrrr, I know you are starting to feel that chill in your bones because I most certainly am. Sweater weather is here and I’m betting it is here to stay. When the temperature starts dropping, no amount of turtlenecks, cardigans, or crew necks could replace the importance of having a drawer that is well stocked. You have to dress up those accessories and dress down your garments (literally) and I am here to show you how. For all my fashion forward women and men, you still have to look the part no matter the reason or season. I know all of my fashion lovers can attest to that known fact. "Weather" it is hail, snow, rain or shine, you still want to make sure you are always at your best when it comes to your attire. While it’s always a welcomed upgrade to load up on the knitted sweaters, too often you forget to apply the same principles when your hats, gloves, scarves, or socks are concerned—these items are forgotten far too often, if not misplaced entirely at the end of each winter.

Don’t get caught up in the temperature on the scale and neglect the clothing in your closets. Learn how to utilize the items in your closet and create tons of outfit options by mixing and matching. You can pair your slip dress with a sweater underneath or that cocktail dressed paired with a crisp button up creating elegant but unique looks without comprising your own body temperature. Who wants to walk around freezing their tails off because you’re trying to be cute? Not I, said the Chester cat (lol). Which also brings me to my next point, the dos and the don’ts for this fall.

I mean who am I to tell you what to wear and what not to wear but if you are following and keeping up with Jai I’m going to assume that you like what you see, at least some of the time if not all of the time ::insert smiley face here::. There comes a time and a place when we have to scrutinize our closets and determine its time to rid our closets of clothes that are old and dated. In other words, don’t be a hoarder. The era of the layered pearl necklaces over the crew neck sweater and the plaid shirt underneath has died and gone to fashion archives heaven. While we’re addressing grandma’s pearls we should just go ahead and speak on the stacked platform pumps. I am utterly and completely over that phase, pushed to the back of my mind in hopes of never resurfacing. I’m kidding, but please pass them on to someone who may need them much more than you do. Let’s not play it safe this winter, jump the gun and experiment with bright bold colors instead of sticking to the traditional black, and play with different textures. Trends do seem to repeat themselves later on down the road but until that time comes let’s make room for items that are a little more functional and essential to our day to day.

Let’s talk about what you should be running to the store and grabbing in case you haven’t already secured these fashion staples. Now is the time to stock up on knitted hats, cute beanies, scarfs, leather gloves, textured mittens, fun finger-less gloves, printed arm warmers, knitted and cable socks, faux collars just to name a few. Purchase staple items that are multi-functional and versatile so that with one blazer you can create 30 plus looks. Jai is here to show you how to get the most usage out of your wardrobe by coming into your beautiful homes and revamping your wardrobes and accentuating what is already there. I am only a contact form away for more details. Don't forget to like, comment, and subscribe because I am always looking for feedback from my audience which in turns lets me know I am at least heading in the right direction.

Talk to you soon.....Jai.
